Juanita J. Dike, 96, of Princeton, IN passed away December 18, 2024 at RiverOaks Heath Campus. She was born May 16, 1928 in Princeton, IN to the late Otis and Hazel Mabe. Juanita attended and graduated from Princeton High School. She married Charles Dike Jr. and was a proud homemaker. Juanita liked to play the harmonica, was known to talk and sign in pig latin, and enoyed having the honor of naming babies in the family. She loved to write poems, especially in birthday cards and holiday cards. Juanita and her sister Betty really enjoyed singing at nursing homes, hospitals, and special events around town. Juanita was a member of First General Baptist Church in Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Dike Jr.; children, Charles Dike III and Linda Dike; siblings, Junior Mabe, Homer Mabe, Marge Adams, and Betty Niederhaus; and son-in-law, Ted Thompson.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Rita Thompson; grandchildren, Teddy (Sheri) Thompson, Chad (Kelly) Thompson, and Travis (Hannah) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Megan (Trevor) Martin, Payton (Ryan) Henderson, Dillon and Drake Turpin, Rylee, Tyler, and Reece Thompson, Damion, Gage, Dakota, and Cash Thompson; siblings, Jim (Sue) Mabe and Ray (Clara) Mabe; and 5 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 12 PM Monday, December 23, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating with burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held Monday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
