Judith McClurkin Obituary

Judith Carol McClurkin, 80, of Princeton, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at Charles Ford Retirement Community in New Harmony. She was born January 11, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Morton David McClurkin and Carol (Crecelius) McClurkin. Judy worked as a registered nurse for over 45 years and was known for being the Director of Nursing at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She was a member of Bethel Memorial Church and loved shopping. Judy enjoyed road trips, going to the beach, and visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was dearly loved and will be missed.  


Judy is survived by her daughter, Kelli McClurkin Smith and husband, Alex of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; granddaughter, Emily Harper Smith of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; sister, Mary Sue McClurkin Knopf of Princeton; nieces and nephew, Amy Koch, Tammy Knopf, and Christopher Knopf; and various great-nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Walter H. Knopf; and a special friend, Dallas Shoemaker.  

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Pastor Kyle Powell. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30 until 11:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home.  

Judy's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Charles Ford Home in New Harmony for loving and caring for their "Aunt Judy" like she was one of their own. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Charles Ford Hospice in Harmony located at 920 Main Street, New Harmony, IN 47631. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
