June “Ford” Rose, 89, of Princeton, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at River Oaks Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Princeton. She was born December 14, 1933 in Flat Rock, Illinois to the late James W. Ford and Ruby (Smith) Ford. June worked as a real estate agent for WF Realty from ’73 to 1979 then with her husband for the next 18 years running Rose and Rose Real Estate. She kept up her real estate license even after just because she enjoyed helping people. June was a member of Princeton Christian Church and was a travel enthusiast. She enjoyed cruises and trips to Europe with her brother and sister-in-law and enjoyed family vacations in the summer down to Florida. June will be remembered most for making the best strawberry pies, fun shopping trips, and her love for cats.
June is survived by her son, James Rose of Princeton; son-in-law, Dale Fisher of Wheeling; grandchildren, Scott Fisher and Katy Tiedt (Thomas); and brother, Jim Ford of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Douglas E. Rose in 1998; daughter, Cindy Fisher in 2006; brother, Paul Ford; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Ford and Evelyn Ford.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Elder Robin Fortner. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visiting hours will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
