Kathleen Louise Belcher

Kathleen Louise Belcher, 75, of Hazleton, IN passed away peacefully at home Friday, September 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born November 29, 1949 in Vincennes, IN to the late Sylvester Cates and Arita (Sharp) Scheirmann. Kathleen was in the 1967 graduating class of Princeton High school. She married the love of her life, Ikey Belcher Sr. July 15, 1967. They were blessed with 58 years and two children. Kathleen worked at Hansen’s for 20+ years before retiring. She liked taking long country road drives, watching the birds from her patio, and working crossword puzzles. Kathleen will be remembered for her beautiful poetry. She was even published in several different books. Kathleen loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She truly was a special person and will be missed dearly. 

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Robert Scheirmann. 

She is survived by her husband, Ikey Belcher Sr.; children, Ikey (Garie) Belcher Jr. and Pamela Jean “Jeannie” (Robbie “Bob”) Breen; grandchildren, Quentin Belcher, Wesley McKannan, Steven Breen, Wyatt Breen, Hunter Breen, and Jason Beadles; and siblings, David Cates, Beth (Pete) Hughes, John (Kaye) Cates, and Susan (Randall) Thomas. 

A memorial service will be held 7 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday 5 PM until service time.
