Kelly Deffendall Obituary

Kelly B. Deffendall, 64, of Princeton, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born October 9, 1958 in Mount Carmel, Illinois to Richard and Marlene (Whitsman) Deffendall. He had lived in Princeton most of his life and was the General Manager at Faulkner Automotive in Mount Carmel. His passion was car sales working in the business for many years. He enjoyed all types of dirt track racing especially driving his own go-kart. He was a former national champion winning many races and was always the one to beat. He also enjoyed spending time with family, grilling out, swimming and working in the yard.

Kelly is survived by his children, Mallory Vermillion (Goob), Allison Boxell (Alex) and Richard Deffendall (Madison) all of Princeton; grandchildren, Daynica and Myles Vermillion, Carter and Brynnlee Boxell, and Stella and Briggs Deffendall; sister, Teresa Wilson (Terence); brother-in-law, Archie Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Deffendall in 2019; and sister, Brenda Hicks.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 18th from 4 until 8 pm at the funeral home.

To help prevent the spread of infectious disease, the family is requesting that everyone PLEASE WEAR A MASK for visitation and the funeral.
