Kenneth Edmond Adkins, 85, of Patoka, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026 at his home. He was born February 16, 1941 in Branchland, West Virginia to the late Arthur and Bertie Adkins and worked as a life-long coal miner at Old Ben Coal, following in the family generations foot steps of working the mines. Kenneth was very passionate about sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He enjoyed running around with his son, but his greatest joy was watching his grandson play baseball. He was loved and will be dearly missed.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Adkins of Patoka; children, Ricky Adkins, Rebecca Adkins, and Roger Adkins (Jamie); grandchildren, Chase and Channing Adkins; and a brother, Arthur Adkins, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Adkins; and siblings, Ray Adkins and Jean Adkins.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
