Lanette Ellen (Abell) Donahay

Lanette Ellen (Abell) Donahay, 69, of Petersburg passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in Gary, Indiana on June 17, 1957 to James Abell and Mary (Dougan) Lane and worked for Knox County ARC as a supervisor. She loved cooking and was very good at it. She loved animals and taking care of her dogs. She also loved music and will be missed dearly.

Lanette is survived by her children, Jamie Golden of Petersburg and David William Golden (Kelly) of St. Louis, Missouri; siblings, Anita Smith and Charlie Dougan; and beloved animal companions, Grace and Betty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James “Jim” Donahay.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jon HarBison officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Petersburg at a later date.
