Laura Ella Davis, 91, of Princeton, formerly of Francisco, passed away January 23, 2021 at Deaconess Henderson in Kentucky. She was born in Princeton May 7, 1929 to the late Louis and Nova (Lytle) Burns and grew up in the Francisco area most of her life. She married Albert Davis on September 13, 1947 and they were blessed with 40 years together before his passing in 1987. Laura was a volunteer for the Francisco School as a “gray lady” in the nurse’s office and lunchroom. She was a member of the Francisco Little League and a charter member of the Francisco Lioness Club. Laura worked at Lakeview Truck Stop in Haubstadt as a hostess until her retirement. She was loved and will be missed.
Laura is survived by her children, Janice Lloyd (Andrew), Rick Davis, Greg Davis, and Gene Davis all of Princeton, Ben Davis (Tammy) of Francisco, Don Davis (Patti) of Patoka, and Tony Davis (Karen) of Lansing, Michigan; step-son, Dallas Davis (Vicki) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brother, Jerry Burns (Joyce) of Columbus, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Loretta Hottel.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 29, 2021 at Francisco Community Cemetery in Francisco officiated by Pastor Rex Charles. Burial will follow. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there is a maximum of 25 people at any gathering, social distancing and facial coverings are required.
