Linda Haubold, 80, of Princeton, passed away at home Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born November 13, 1942 in Fort Branch to the late Arnold Wilkerson and Katherene Charlesteen (Jones) Wilkerson. Linda worked over 23 years for Amax Coal Company in Keensburg, Illinois as a coal miner underground. She was a member of the UMWA local 1791 and Day Spring Community Church.
Linda loved her flower garden, traveling, especially to Vegas, and was a non-judgemental woman with a kind heart. She was the glue to her family and would take in anyone. People that were close to the family were loved as family.
Linda is survived by 6 children, Tommy Umpleby and his children, Nathan and his child Bryce; JT (Tonya) and their children, Kaidyn, Gracelynn, and Dawsyn; and Tyler and his child, Zoei; Kathy Blume (Steve) and their children, Justin (Tara) Perry, Jessica (Chris) and their children, Carter, Beau (in Heaven), and Jace; and Kelsey (Aaron) and their child, Lynley; Danny Umpleby and his children, Lil’ Dan and his children, Eli and Everly; and Laynie (Jake) and their child, Everett; Melinda Preusz (Rusty) and their children, Hayle (Mike) and their children, Leighton, Jaelynn, and Baby Jones; and Rylee and their children, Reegyn and Kayzlyn; Billie Golden (Larry) and their children, Kaycie (Brad) and their children, Brysyn, Taylyn, Skylyn, and Hayvyn; Kaitlyn (Daniel) and their children, Daniel and Lilly; and Quentin (Makayla); and Angie Umpleby and her children, Colton (Raven) and their children, Grier and Phoenixx; and Averie (Maleek) and their children, Kyson and Kaliah. Linda is also survived by the father of her kids, Kenny Umpleby; sisters, Bobbie Wilkerson, Joyce Miller (Bill), and Marsha Pinkston (Bubbles); brothers, Larry Wilkerson (Luz), Ed Wilkerson (Mary), Roger Wilkerson, and Ricky Wilkerson; several nieces and nephews who she was very close to; and her dog, Leah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Haubold; sister, Janet Thompson; brother, Ron Wilkerson; great-grandson, Beau Trevor Cagle; and son-in-law, Rod Bradshaw.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Burr officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. Visiting hours will be held from 1:00 PM until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
