Linda D. Ross, 75, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 at West River Nursing Home in Evansville. She was born June 24, 1950 in Oakland City, IN to Harold V. McDonald and Helen J. (Rogers) McDonald Schmidt. Linda graduated from Winslow High School in 1968 and earned her Bachelor’s degree in communications from University of Evansville. She worked as a production worker for General Foods in Evansville for many years. Throughout the years Linda lived in the Princeton area, rural Warrick County for over 20 years, Newfoundland, and Saudi Arabia when her dad was in the US Air force. She enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts. Linda loved spending time with and indulging her sisters and grandchildren by taking them and buying lunch. She will be remembered for her artistic abilities, creative mind, and generous heart. Linda would make and give the most incredible personal gift baskets. She is loved dearly and already deeply missed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John William “Bill” Schmidt; husband, Tony Ross; brother, Ronald McDonald; and grandson, Ethan Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Eric Johnson; sisters, Lori McDonald Madison (Paul) and Shelly McDonald Shamsaie; grandchildren, Emily Smith (Steve), Elissa Redman (Nathan), and Evan Johnson; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
At this time services will not be scheduled. Burial at a later date will take place at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to It Takes a Village Animal Rescue or Albion Fellows Bacon Center in Evansville.
