Linda Tolbert Obituary

Linda Sue (Anthis) Tolbert, 80, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 in Princeton surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 1, 1938 to Frank Virgil and Bertha (Sherman) Anthis.

Linda was proud of her education, graduating from Decker Chapel High School in 1956. She then moved forward, enrolling in the nursing program at V.U./Good Samaritan Hospital, earning her degree as an RN in 1959.

In 1960, she married Bertis Tolbert. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Susan L. Speedy of Patoka and Joye E. Teeters (Mike) of Princeton.

Later in life she continued her education at Indiana University, earning a degree as a Nurse Practitioner in women’s health care. When Linda retired, she continued her love of caring for others through home health & visiting nurse.

Linda has many hobbies. She was a doll collector, angel collector and loved embroidery. She was a cat lover and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; niece, Janice Hartman; nephew, Aaron Baehl; brothers, Frank Anthis Jr and James Earl Anthis ; and brother-in-law, Jerome Baehl.

Linda is survived by daughters; Susan and Joye; 3 granddaughters, Jesseka Frederick of Petersburg, Melani Catt and Lindy Pauley both of Princeton, Carrie Heldt and Josh Teeters. They affectionally referred to her as “Nan”. Linda had 10 great grandchildren, Jax, Cash, Gracie, Dallas, Trinity, Lennon, Brylee, Kylee, Malik and Tia; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hazleton Community Cemetery.
