Lona “Gayle” Cochran, 78, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Gayle was born November 26, 1945 in Princeton to Ed and Frances “Frankie” (Scales) Scott.
Gayle lived in Princeton all her life and was a member of the Princeton High School Class of 1963. She was a retired school bus driver, last driving for the North Gibson School Corporation. She was also an interior designer, who enjoyed decorating, gardening, and was a houseplant enthusiast. Gayle loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she enjoyed going shopping.
Gayle is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph C. Cochran of Princeton; daughter, Christa King of Anderson; sons, Joe D. Cochran of Princeton, and Tyrone “Ty” Cochran (Shellia) of Princeton; grandchildren, Abby, Mackenzie, Morgan, Macie (Bobby), Daniel, Taylor (Kinnen) and Trenton; 3 great- grandchildren, Rowen, Scarlett, and Henry; special nephews, Bronson, Braden, and Brandon; and special great-nephew, Jeffrey.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tommy and Jeff Scott; and daughter, Lorri Cochran.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Bernie Etienne as celebrant. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation to be held from 11 am until the hour of service on Saturday at the church. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Rosary Garden at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 S. Race St., Princeton, IN 47670. Envelopes will be available at the church.
