Madeline Kays Obituary

Madeline Marie (Tressell) Kays, 92, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at The Waters in Princeton. She was born on August 20, 1928 in Sullivan County, IN to Barthel and Mabel (Hurt) Tressell. She had resided in Princeton most of her life and was a member of Broadway Christian Church. She had previously worked at Hansen Manufacturing and she and her husband, Leslie, had owned and operated the Gibson Grill in Princeton. She had also worked for many years at IGA. She enjoyed playing cards, doing ceramics and having a vegetable garden. She was an excellent baker and cook, especially for family and friends.

Madeline is survived by her son, Edward L. Kays (Joyce) of Princeton; granddaughter, Stephanie Kays and great grandson, Lucas Carden of Evansville; grandson, Kaleb Bledsoe and great grandson, James Bledsoe of St. Francisville, IL; and sister, Patricia Anne Tressell of Newark, DE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Eugene Kays in 1985; and daughter, Teresa Kays Bledsoe.

A private graveside service will be held at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton with burial following.
