Madge Marie Dearing

Madge Marie Dearing, 87, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois. She was a successful homemaker raising 6 children and a proud military wife and mother. In her younger years she attended Salvation Army Church and Friendship Christian Church which built her strong faith. She was an animal lover, a good listener who never judged, and could carry a conversation about anything. Madge was sharp minded and was an avid reader. She also liked watching football, especially the Colts. She was a mother to all and would take any and all in, but above and beyond her normal resume, she kept her family close to her and to one another. She will be missed.

Madge is survived by her children, Ada Laverne of Colorado Springs, Colorado, William “Bill” Dearing (Jane) of Greenup, Illinois, Vicki Okes of Henderson, Kentucky, and Mark Dearing (Donna) of Evansville; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharon Green of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, James O. Dearing; sons, James Robert Dearing and George Marlin Dearing; sisters, Betty, Patsy, Emily, and Jessie; and half-brother, John Hale.
