Mae "Louise" Pollock Obituary

Mae “Louise” Pollock, 86, of Princeton, passed from this life at home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born to the late Floyd and Dimple (Esray) Speedy on October 21, 1938 in Patoka, Indiana. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Ted Pollock, on August 23, 1956. Louise loved spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the newest addition to the family, her great-great-granddaughter.

Some of her special memories of her youth included growing up in Kings Station and participating in the 4-H programs. She also spoke of the fun she had while in the marching band for Princeton High School, where she graduated in 1956. For many years, one of her favorite activities was her annual Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren and later, the great-grandchildren.

While she was able, Louise loved crocheting and quilting things to give as gifts to friends and family. Being an avid reader, she also loved reading her Bible. Always an early riser, she loved attending the 8 a.m. service at Bethel Memorial Church.  Louise owned the resale shop, My Sister’s Closet in Princeton for many years where she made several friends in the community. She was proud to be a coach in the first girls’ softball league in Princeton and a 4-H leader for many years. Louise’s deep affection for her pets was evident throughout her life.

Louise is survived by her son, Jed Pollock (Toni); daughter, Jill Chapman (Bill); grandchildren, Amy Dunville (Jason), Clint Pollock, Becky LeCloux (Jim), Tera Turpin and Jake Pollock; sister, Marcella Sweeny of Mt. Carmel; sisters-in-law, Linda Speedy of Opelika, Alabama and Rita Speedy of Princeton; great-grandchildren, Maelyn, Gavon, Corbin, Dunville, AJ and Adrianne LeCloux, Rachel Pollock and Alan Turpin; a great-great-granddaughter, Marabella; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; brothers, Glen Speedy, John “Bud” Speedy, Ed Speedy, and Ron Speedy; and sister, Marie Smith.
