Marilyn B. (Henson) Poole

Marilyn B. (Henson) Poole 82, of Petersburg passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.  She was born in Petersburg March 9, 1942 to Joseph Raymond and Ethel G. (Gilliland) Henson.

Marilyn had worked and retired as a custodian for Stone and Stemle, Inc in Jasper. She had lived in Petersburg most of her life and was a member of the First Church of God there.  She loved her family and friends, always had the time or made the time to set down and listen to what you had to say. Marilyn will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Marilyn is survived by her children; Robert “Scott” Poole (Cindy) of Evansville, Michelle Miley (Jim) of Petersburg; and brother, Gary Henson of Petersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Jack E. Poole who passed away January 4, 2020, siblings, Hazel Wheatley, Lucy Turnbloom, Joseph and Daniel Henson, Grace Hazelton and Donald Henson.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (Central Time), August 18, 2024 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Michael Roach officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Campbelltown.  Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
