Marlan Raye Morris, 65 of Indianapolis, formerly of Princeton passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at his home. He was born Jan. 15, 1959, the beloved son of Glenn Morris and Saundra K. (Simmons) Morris.
Marlan did not have any children but leaves behind a lot of family and friends. He attended Washington High School in Indianapolis and continued his studies at Indiana State College. Throughout his life he worked at a local hospital and various other jobs.
In his free time, Marlan had a passion for reading, particularly non-fiction. He enjoyed expanding his knowledge and engaging with new ideas and perspectives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lester and Marie Morris; maternal grandparents, Alvin and Eloise Simmons; siblings, Rhonda Morris, Gregory Morris, and Brent Morris.
Marlan is survived by his father, Glenn Morris (Julia) of Princeton; and his mother, Saundra K. Morris of Indianapolis; sisters, Kelly Morris of Indianapolis and Julia Niehaus (Randy) of Evansville; nephews, Darnell Harris (Ashleigh), Quentin Harris, Keyshaun Pipkin, and Aidan Sullivan; great nieces and nephews, Rhiley, Dezmond, Brynlei, and Arlie Harris.
Marlan will be remembered for his kindness, helpfulness, love for his family, and his charismatic personality. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside at 1 pm Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station, with Pastor John Jamerson officiating. Burial will follow the services.
