Marlin McCormick Obituary

Marlin R. McCormick, 90, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at RiverOaks Health Campus. He was born October 17, 1934 in Monroe City, IN to the late Ira Franklin McCormick and Edith Fern (Junkin) McCormick. Marlin married the love of his life, Doris May (Howard) McCormick, September 13, 1956 in Carlisle, IN. He proudly served in the US Army. Marlin attended Vincennes University earning an Associate degree and University of the State of New York earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He worked as a Lab Technician for Bristol Myers Squibb, also known as Mead Johnson, for 30+ years. Marlin was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He enjoyed tinkering any time he could. Marlin would bring home old junk cars, fix them up, sell them, and start over. In his younger years, he played the accordion. He enjoyed planting a large garden. Marlin liked to talk (and talk) if the right subject was brought up. He was an avid reader for many years. Marlin was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 65 years, Doris McCormick; grandson, Michael Hensley; and sister, Marjorie Field.

Marlin is survived by his children, Mark (Barry Harte) McCormick, David (Kim) McCormick, Anne (Larry) Seger, Scott (Jennipher) McCormick, and Paul (Lori) McCormick; grandchildren, Kevin Harte-McCormick, Kate Harte-McCormick, Melinda McCormick, Mirandi McCormick, Lori Seger, Kimberly (Augustus) Dudley, Julie (Rafael) Barrera, and Molly McCormick; great-grandchildren, Kayleb, Keagan, Nicolas, Karmin, and Alivia; and brother-in-law, Robert Field.

A memorial service celebrating Marlin’s life will be held 5 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Barry Harte officiating. Military honors will be given by the Retired Military Veterans. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Indian Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
