Martha Theresa (Kough) Gilham

Martha Theresa Gilham (nee: Kough), age 72, went home to be with Jesus, and her daughter, Michelle Rowland (Gilham), on April 13, 2020 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her adoring family for her last few weeks. Now she is taking the grand tour of her new home!Only concerned with the feelings and wellness of those she loved, her one thought in life was whether her family and loved ones were doing all right. She loved Christmas shopping and going to yard sales. She cooked, cleaned, knitted and crocheted, for everyone she could. She looked forward to the Holidays and made every holiday extra special for her family.

Many have described Martha as a saint, but she would describe herself as a servant. Her entire life was dedicated to helping others even when she herself could have used help. Never one to complain, she took on the role of caregiver and wife to her beloved husband of 54 years, Stan. When the time came to also take on the mantle of motherhood, she expanded her definition of servanthood. She gave birth to four children, Stanley (wife-Debbie), Michelle (husband-Rob), Matthew (wife-Jules), and Scott (wife-Kelsey), and raised Sarah as her own. The absolute joy of her life though were her 15 grandchildren; Cassie, Colin, Quinn, Daycia, Zachary, Angel, Olivia, Levi, Liam, Jack, Hank, Lukya, Elliana, Serenity, and Rylan.

Martha is also survived by her sisters, Mary Steele and Rita Yoon, and her brothers, Mike and Steve Kough. She is preceded in death by her parents; Dorothy (Nellis) Kough, and her daughter.
