Martha J. White

Martha Jean White, 85, of Oatsville, IN passed away October 19, 2023. She was born May 16, 1938 in Petersburg, IN to the late John Krieg and Dorothy (Dillon) Krieg. Martha married the love of her life, Roy White, and was blessed with 61 years of marriage before his passing. She worked in production for Hansen’s for 16 years before she retired in 1992. Martha was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church Knights Chapel. She enjoyed making beautiful crocheted things, cooking delicious meals, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martha is loved by many and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy White; children, Danny (Dyla) Krieg, Patricia “Patty” Sharp, and Cindy Brashear; grandson, Benjamin Cory Sharp; great-grandson, Joshua Anthony Manning; son-in-law, Steve Montgomery; and siblings, Jr Krieg, Charlie Krieg, Nancy Krieg, and Alice Greene.

Martha is survived by her children, Nancy Montgomery (Dan) and Michelle Cates (Bob); 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Krieg and Mike Krieg (Jean); and sons-in-law, John Brashear and Terry McKasson.

Funeral will be held at the graveside at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Mount Olympus, Indiana. Burial will follow. There will be no public visitation.
