Mary L. Johnson, 97 of Princeton passed away peacefully at her home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family, on Friday, November 13, 2020. She was born July 12, 1923 in Princeton to Jesse and Flossie (Snyder) Mounts.
Mary was a homemaker; she had lived in Princeton most of her life. She had been a member of T.O.P.S, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, playing Yahtzee, and especially, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Don Johnson (Patty) of Princeton, Jackie Snapp (Mike) of Princeton, and Dewayne Johnson of Princeton; brother, Virgil Mounts (Evelyn) of Patoka; sisters, Henrietta Bassett of Princeton, Loretta Chapman of Patoka, Roberta Walls of Ft. Branch, and Beulah Briggs (Pat) of Princeton; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Cecil Johnson; son, David Johnson; daughters, Joyce Ann Pack and Judy Terry; brothers, Harold and Walter Mounts; sister, Betty Brown; and a granddaughter, Ramona Terry.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Kenneth Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia “White” Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Due to new state mandated Covid regulations we have a maximum capacity of 50 people at the funeral home and cemetery. Other than the immediate family, we ask that you please pay your respects and then return to your vehicles. Social distancing and masks are required.
