Mary Lee (Ward) Keneipp, 95, of Owensville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at her home in Owensville. She was born April 10, 1929 in Clinton, Illinois to the late William and Mary Ward. She was a member of the Owensville United Methodist Church and Daughter’s of American Revolution. Mary loved playing bridge and golf. She was an excellent golfer, scoring 2 holes in 1, and winning several tournaments. Mary was a terrific homemaker always caring for the needs of her loved ones and she was a wonderful cook. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.
Mary is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard Keneipp of Owensville; son, James Lovett of South Bend; grandson, Travis Cheek (Amber) of Rantoul, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Georgia, and Aiden Cheek all of Rantoul, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Peggy Callis of Owensville and Elisabeth Knox of Newburgh; and a niece, Jean Ann Pfisterer (Alan) of Louisville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, James Lovett; daughter, Georgia Hurby; grandson, Greg Lovett; and Mary was the last of her 7 siblings that preceded her.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Owensville United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend William Ping. Interment will follow at David B. Smith Cemetery in Owensville. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
