She was born in Evansville, IN. to the late Basil Spencer Gibson and Lelia Mae (Hinkle) Gibson. Mary attended Central High School. After high school she worked as a waitress for Max BBQ and the Wayside Inn. Mary took a position in production at Flex Steel, then Zenith, followed by Shelf Stable food. She then made a shift to sales and worked at Wright Motors in Evansville from 1996-2012. Mary decided she wanted to use her caring heart to help people and completed a program to become a CNA in 2012 and HHA in 2013. She worked in both hospice and home health for MSA (Medical Services America) before retiring in 2015. She lastly worked at Rosie’s Diner where she helped her brother. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton where she sang in the choir, participated in the ladies’ mission, and the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. She enjoyed spending time outside riding her bike, tending the garden, and going on vacation to the beach where she would walk along the beach to search for lovely seashells. Mary will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking pies, and being a lucky scratch off ticket winner. She liked to attend classes at Painting With a Twist where she could make paintings. Mary also would craft and make pottery for family and friends. She loved visiting and going to concerts with her husband, friends, and family. Mary had a big heart that always wanted to give back as much as she could by volunteering. She touched many lives and will be missed.
