Mary Sturgeon Obituary

Mary Jean Sturgeon, 77, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at her home. She was born January 4, 1944 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Samuel and Lector (Eller) Morgan and was a factory worker for Potter and Brumfield, Hansen Manufacturing, and at Whirlpool. She was a poet and enjoyed writing poetry. She also enjoyed flowers. She was a good woman and will be dearly missed.

Mary is survived by her husband, James Sturgeon of Princeton; sons, David Pyle and Jeffrey Pyle; step children, Thomas Sturgeon (Tina), Kimberly Allender (John), and Misty Tompolis (Derek); 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Margie Oakley, Lloyd Morgan, Doris Hamilton, and infant twin sister, June Morgan.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Colvin Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
