Melissa Rene (Schroering) Barthel

Melissa Rene (Schroering) Barthel, 53, of Haubstadt, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 16, 1970 in Jasper, daughter of Ralph and Madonna (Mehringer) Schroering. Melissa worked as a CPA at Vowells and Shaaf, LLP and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 25 years, Chris Barthel; mother, Madonna Schroering; sons, Garrett Barthel (Eislin) and Justin Barthel (Olivia Riggins); and siblings, Kevin Schroering (Denise), Michelle Dodson (Chris), Janel Werner (Shane), Kurt Schroering, and Jason Schroering.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The funeral mass will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt officiated by Father Ken Betz and Father Andrew Thomas. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held from 10 until 12:00 Noon at the church on Tuesday.
