Michael W. Ellerbruck, 52 of Somerville passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital in Newburgh. He was born March 13, 1968 in Oakland City to Walter A. and Jane (Dent) Ellerbruck Jr.
Mike was a waste water operator for Far Best Foods in Huntingburg for 26 years. He had lived in Somerville most of his life. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Oakland City. He loved old Hot Rod cars and enjoyed attending the Frog Follies every year. He was a coin collector and enjoyed baseball and other sports. He worked to get the Ed Rousch monument placed at Wirth Park.
He is survived by his 2 brothers, Ryan and Bryan Ellerbruck; financee of 15 years, Carolyn Schmitt; step-brother, Mike Drew; sister-in-law, Brandy Ellerbruck; 2 nieces and 2 nephews, Landen, Aleyah, Brylee and Blayne Ellerbruck; and his canine companion Baby Girl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Joseph Ellerbruck.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Henry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Cemetery near Giro, IN. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to Covid 19 regulations, seating for the funeral and capacity of the funeral home for visitation will be limited. Social distancing from one another is encouraged.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Envelopes will available at the funeral home.
