Michael “Mike” L. Maier, 74, of Princeton, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 6, 1950 in Princeton. He had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and had worked as a licensed funeral director in Washington, IN and in Oklahoma and later as a hairdresser for 24 years in Mt. Carmel and Princeton.
Mike is survived by his companion of 16 years, Danny Peach of Princeton; children, Tony Maier, Shawn Maier, Stacy Browning (Josh), Matthew Maier (Jase), Dillon Maier, April Frey (Mike), Danelle Banks (Carl Pierce), and Jason Peach (Sheena Koch); grandchildren, Tanikka Wilkerson, Tanisha Dame (Heath), Tamera Wilkerson, Shane Ritchie (Mickey), Nathan, Scott, and Brock Maier, Austin Peach, Justin Midle, Taylor (Bailay) Banks, William (Jordyn) Banks, Kieri and Micheal Phelps, Skyler and Ashlee Elliott, Carter Rohdea, and Lily Peach; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Gary Maier (Dena) of Francisco, Beth Putt (Bill) of Oakland City, and Jim Maier (Sandy) of Vincennes; and 5 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; August Maier and Wanda (Newcome) Maier and son, Timothy Peach.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Fr. Gary Kaiser. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
