Nancy J. Briner Griffith, 82 of Princeton passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born October 17, 1937 in Monroe City, IN to Grover and Pansy Irene (Belcher) Wiseman.
Nancy had lived in Princeton since 1987 moving here from Oakland City, having lived her younger years in Knox County. She had served the public at the Gibson County Courthouse for 52 years. She was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. Her love of politics led her to be a longtime member of the Democrat Women’s Club. She also served as Vice Chairman of Gibson County Democrat Party for many years. She served on the Board of the Princeton Public Library for many years and had been very involved with the new library expansion currently going on. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting and traveling. She loved to watch her grandchildren participating in sport activities.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Thomas of Cookeville TN; brother, Tim Wiseman of Indiana ; sister, Vickie Wiseman Legg of Atlanta, GA; 2 grandchildren, Elyse Hart (Seth) of Ft. Hood ,TX and Evan Thomas of Charleston, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Gene Briner and Bradley Griffith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday January 29, 2020 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Jarmon Perkins and Rev. Curtis bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbia White Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m until service time on Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Princeton Public Library Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
