Nancy Kaye Nixon, 86, born January 19, 1939 in Princeton, passed away peacefully, April 29, 2025 at the RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton, surrounded by loved ones.
Nancy is survived by her children, Brad Nixon (Nora) and Emily Burris (Tim), as well as her grandchildren, Zachary LaGrange (Sarah), Timothy LaGrange (Beth), Lacey Cincinelli (Chris), Logan Nixon (Kayce), Miranda Nixon and Will Nixon. Nancy was also a proud great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, Mina, Warren, Leo, Emmett, Margot, Evelyn, Ray and Daniel, who brought her endless joy. She is additionally survived by her sister, Malinda Wirey (Rick).
Nancy was preceded in death by beloved husband, Charles Nixon; son, Matthew Nixon; and parents, Newton Thompson and Ermal Thompson; and sister Elaine Tucker.
Nancy was known to her family as Mom, Mamaw, Mimi Green, and Grandma Great. She loved cooking dinners for her family and gathering with family for holidays. She enjoyed being involved in the Fairview Presbyterian Church, weekly coffee dates with friends, and any opportunity to savor chocolate.
Nancy brought light and love wherever she went. Her joyful spirit, gentle patience and unwavering care made everyone around her feel special and deeply loved. As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she was known for her kind heart, steady warmth, and deep devotion to her family. Her memory will be a lasting source of joy, and her legacy will continue to shine in the many lives she has touched.
A funeral service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Archer Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held 12 until 2p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
