Norma May Obituary

Norma Jean (Woods) May, 90, of Princeton, Passed away October 30, 2021 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville with her loving family by her side. She was born April 3, 1931 in Princeton to the late William E. Woods and Agnes C. (Christian) Woods. She married Bob May and they were blessed with 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Norma worked as a CNA and retired from Gibson General Hospital after many years of service. Norma was a devout Catholic and long time member of St. Joseph in Princeton. Her joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Norma was an avid card player, always played to win and took great pride in teaching her grandchildren to play. She kept her mind sharp with her passion for reading and never missed a birthday. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure. 

Norma is survived by her children, Bill May of Belleville, Illinois, Barbara (Dwain) Dye of Belleville, Illinois, Tom May of Belleville, Illinois, Terry (Mike) Beatty of Waterloo, Illinois, Michael (Nancy) May of Princeton, Carolyn (John) Wood of Evansville, and Patty (Jeff) Hoffman of Evansville; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill (Marianne) Woods, and David (Donna) Woods. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Mary Catherine Pflug. 

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton officiated by Father Gary Kaiser. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 4 until 8 PM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
