Oleva Mae Young, 95, of Patoka, IN went home to her Lord Thursday, May 29, 2025 at The Water’s of Princeton, IN surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1929 in Pike County Indiana to the late Ralph Dillon and Verna (Marvel) Dillon. Oleva married the love of her life James E. Young Sr. January 8, 1948 and was blessed with 38 years of marriage before his passing in 1986. She worked as a cook for many places, including Buslers, Princeton Country Club, and Little wagon in Patoka. Oleva was a member of First Church of the Nazarene which is now known as New Life Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed spending time outside tending her roses and flower beds. Oleva is loved and will be deeply be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James E. Young Jr.; siblings, John Dillon, Junior Dillon, Morris Dillon, Daniel Dillon, and Effie Beadles; and brother-in-law, Rick Thomas
Oleva is survived by her daughter, Kathy (John) Gross; grandson, Stacy (Daisy) Young; great-grandchildren, Natasha, Melissa and James C. Young; and sisters, Linda Williams, Olive Thomas, and Wanda (Gary) Brown.
A Funeral service will be held 3 PM Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Pastor Donnie Truelock officiating and burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 1:00 PM until the service time.
