Paula Marie Barrett, 81, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born July 29, 1944 to the late James and Deloris (Burton) Barrett and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for over 60 years. She worked as a housecleaner with her daughter and for Thrust Industries where she was popular for being the employee of the month. Paula had a big heart and had unconditional love for everyone she met. She never met a stranger and was very well known for her strong inner faith. Each one of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren knew that they were her "favorite". Paula lived by the Golden Rule which is to treat others how you'd want to be treated. She loved her family with her whole heart and will be missed beyond measure.
Paula is survived by her children, Denisa "Dee" Battram (Bill), Brett Dewig (Kendra), Becky Burke (Jim), and Cathie Dewig; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Faye Packer (Jerry), Pudge Powers, and Melanie White (Alan).
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Barrett and sister, Brenda Spurgeon.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton officiated by Father Gary Kaiser. Interment will follow at St. Joe Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 10 until service time Tuesday at the church.
