Penny Nossett Obituary

Penny Rose Nossett, 87, of Cummings, GA passed peacefully into the presence of her Savior July 27, 2026.  She was born on July 3, 1939, to Harold and Helen Smith. She graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indiana and went on to receive her degree as a Registered Nurse. After college, she worked in several different capacities in the medical field. In 1975, she joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru), where she served faithfully for fifty years.

Penny deeply loved and faithfully served her husband, Jim, and their three sons, Greg, Chris, and James. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a gifted seamstress and artist. Throughout her earlier years she would make matching Christmas outfits for her grandchildren and daughters-in-law for the annual family pictures. Later in her life she loved to create artwork which was displayed throughout their home and occasional art shows.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helen, her husband Jim, and her son Greg. She is survived by their sons Chris Nossett (Theresa) and James Nossett (Lori); daughter-in-law Connie Nossett; grandchildren Anna Davis (Jared), Bethany Trice (Wynn), Lauren Weiss (Justin), Caitlin Montenegro Burke (Rafa), Michael Nossett (Grace), and Ashley Hunt (Braden); and nine great-grandchildren.

Though we grieve the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, we rejoice in knowing that she is with the Savior whom she loved. And we have no doubt that the first words she heard in Heaven were, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

A funeral service will be held at the graveside in the White Church Cemetery, 11 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026 with burial to follow there. There will no visitation. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with her local arrangements and is honored to serve Penny’s family.
