Perry L. Jenkins, 73, of Princeton, IN was called home to the Lord Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis, IN December 1, 1952 to James Arthur Jenkins and Bertha Emma (Greene) Jenkins. Perry married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Libby” (Hardiman) Jenkins September 7, 1974. He started his career with Princeton Appliance when he was 17. Perry worked for the State Highway Department for 15+ years, PPG for 15 years, and retired as a surveyor at Hennessey Surveying in Princeton. He was a graduate from Princeton Community High School and graduated with an Associate in Engineering from Purdue University. Perry was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In years past, he played on the East end all star’s softball team. Perry enjoyed watching western movies, football, basketball, and NASCAR on the TV. He was a big Princeton Tigers fan, and always followed their progress. Perry loved supporting his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews at all of their sporting events. He was known to always be down for some good banter, especially with Libby. Perry will be remembered for being a loving husband, supportive father, and caring papaw. He was truly loved by many and is already deeply missed.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sylvia Hardiman, Jacquelyn Young, James Jenkins, and Gwendolyn Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Libby Jenkins; daughter, Chenoa (Chris) Splittorff; grandchildren, Taylor Splittorff (Rylie Todd) and Naomi Splittorff; brother, Michael (Mary Jo) Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 12PM Friday, May 22, 2026 at Colvin Funeral Home with Reverend Floyd Edwards and Reverend William Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Sand hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4PM until 8PM and again Friday 11AM until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
