Phillip M. Lange, 71, formerly of Princeton, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the North River Health Campus near Evansville. He was born April 11, 1949 in Paris, IL to the late Ray E. and Maxine (Duckworth) Lange.
Phillip has lived in Princeton since 1980 moving here from Brocton, IL. He was a retired seed salesman working many years for Princeton Farms and Beck’s Hybrids as well as other seed companies. After retiring, he worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture as a NASDA Enumerator. He was a member of Bethel Memorial Church. Organizations he belonged to include the Francisco Lions Club, life membership in the Edgar Lodge 829 of Decatur, IL, the Royal Arch Masons of IL-Edgar Chapter 32 R.A.M. of Paris, IL, the Palestine Commandery #27 Knights Templar of Paris, IL, Ansar Shrine member #18769 of Springfield, IL, a past Lions Club District Governor in Indiana and on the Gibson County Advisory Council for Agriculture. He was very active in the Lions Club for many years. Phillip and Alice enjoyed shows at the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville, IN. Phillip was a Princeton Tiger sports fan. He could be seen at many of the sporting events, especially the basketball games which he enjoyed. He also enjoyed going to auctions to see what he could buy and what bargains he could get.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice Lange; children, Daniel Lange of Kokomo, IN, Susan Frechette (Bill) of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer Ridens (Jeff) of Haubstadt, and Alex Lange of Princeton; grandchildren; Rylee Lange, Winston and Hadley Frechette, Sidney, Cole and Grace Ridens; 2 brothers, Ed Lange of Ellesworth, IL and Roger Lange of Owensboro, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. This will be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Young America Township Cemetery in Hume IL. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 9th and again at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
