Portia D. Priestly, 70, of Princeton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born November 29, 1952 in Princeton to the late Sylvanious and Alvina (Malone) Priestly, and had always lived in this area. She was a hairdresser for over 25 years and worked at Hansen Mfg. Co. for 25 plus years and then retired from there in 2022. She was a member of Wayman Chapel at Lyles Station. Portia loved her children, grandchildren and dogs, enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and going to the beach, Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite times of the year and liked to cook and bake.
Portia is survived by her two children, Jennifer Priestly of Princeton and Dustin (Nikki) Priestly of Owensville; 3 grandchildren, Lathen, Kyron and Braylon Priestly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Leroy Malone; and a sister, Nina Ann Ellis.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station. Interment will follow. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm and then an open time of sharing from 7 until 8 pm on Friday, November 24th at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayman Chapel or Sand Hill Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
