Raymond "Ray" Drew Obituary

Raymond “Ray” Lee Drew, 87, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. He was born May 7, 1938 in Gibson County to the late Claude F. Drew and Minnie Lee (Gilmour) Yunginger. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked at Whirlpool for 31 years. Ray enjoyed playing pool, even teaching his wife how to play. He liked music, especially Elvis Presley and watching Westerns. He loved the Lord and his family and they will miss him beyond measure.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Janet Sue Drew of Princeton. They were together 35 years and married for 26 years. He is also survived by his son, Jamie Drew; step-sons, Chris Ambrose (Julie) and Richard Ambrose; grandchildren, Jennifer Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Zach Ambrose, Toby Ambrose, Jenna Drew, and several other grandchildren; great-granddaughters, Arianna Ambrose and Isabella Ambrose.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; children, Bobby and Charlene; step-son, David Mitchell; and brother, Bob Monroe.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 7, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Visiting hours will be held from 11 until the service hour Monday at the funeral home. Retired Military Veterans will conduct military services at the graveside on Wednesday, July 9,2025 at 10:00 AM at Odd Fellows cemetery in Princeton.
