Richard Morrison Obituary

Richard L. (Rick) Morrison

Rick was born April 8, 1949 in Princeton, IN to John Fletcher and Daisy Harvey Morrison.  He was a life-long resident of Gibson County.  Rick was a US Army veteran. He worked at Snap-on Tools in Mt. Carmel, IL for 28 years until the plant closed, and then worked at Applebee’s in Princeton until he retired in 2011.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.  Most of all, he loved time with his family.  He cherished all of his family and his Grace Fellowship Church family as well.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sara (Blanton) Morrison.

He had two daughters, Maria (Jeff) Showalter of Iowa Falls, IA and Keri (Troy) Compton of Anderson, SC.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Josh (Wendy) Showalter of Chapel Hill, NC, Ally and Antonio Showalter of Iowa Falls, IA, Shelby and Jed Compton of Anderson, SC.  Surviving siblings are Janice Godbee of Statesboro, GA, Jean Adcock of Patoka, IN, and John (Betty) Morrison of Princeton, IN.  Also surviving are his Uncle Paul Morrison, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann Buchanan Roth and Rose Street; and brothers, Larry Joe Morrison and David Morrison.

The family would like to thank the congregation of Grace Fellowship Church, and especially Pastor Amber Cook, her husband Darin Cook, and Bill and Penny Livermore for their love, support, and kindness.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.  Memorial contributions can be sent to Grace Fellowship Church at 527 East Illinois Street, Princeton IN, 47670.
