Richard Olen Rawls

Richard Olen Rawls, 88, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born October 22, 1935 in Princeton to the late Olen Rawls and Laura Ellen (Turner) Rawls. He married the love of his life, Judith (Eastwood) Rawls on June 1, 1957 and served in the National Guard for about 4 years. Richard first worked for Kroger, then for the Telephone Company, and finally, he owned and operated Eads Cleaners. Richard was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church and the Lions. He enjoyed bicycling, gardening, mowing the lawn, and reading. Richard never met a stranger and had good friends where ever he went.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of just near 67 years, Judith Rawls of Princeton; son, David Rawls of Princeton; and daughter-in-law, Ginger Skaggs of Princeton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg Rawls; and sister, Shirley Kohlmeyer.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton officiated by Pastor Mindy Huffman. Interment will follow.
