Richard Weymouth Obituary

Richard A. Weymouth, 88, of Owensville, IN was called home to the Lord Saturday, March 29, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 9, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Richard A. Weymouth and Thelma C. (Ruud) Weymouth. Dick graduated from Bloomington Consolidated High School then attended Indiana Institute of Technology, where he achieved his Bachelor’s degree. He married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Weymouth, in February of 1958. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage before Ann’s passing in 2019. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an engineer for Potter and Brumfield for 25+ years before retiring in 1992. Dick was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and Jaycee’s. He was a life long member of the VFW and American Legion. In 1970 he was recognized as 1 of 1,000 outstanding young men of America. Dick enjoyed watching Nascar and open wheel racing. He attended the Indy 500 for 25 consecutive races. Dick had a true engineers mind and he loved to tinker and fix anything that needed repaired. His family never knew of any repairmen coming to the house, because Dick would always know how to make it just right.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Weymouth; brother, John Weymouth, sister, Geraldine Weymouth; and brother-in-law, Mel Christenson.

Dick is survived by his children, Roxinda “Rocky” Lutz, Ronald Weymouth, and Russell Weymouth; sisters, Ardith Christenson and Sharlene (Jack) Hauer; grandchildren, Rachel (Tim) Ash, Matthew (Olivia Faith) Lutz, and Rochelle Weymouth; great-grandchildren, Angel (Eric) Emmons, Catie Ash, Joel Ash, Matthew Ash, and Abi Ash.
