Richard "Dick" Knight Obituary

Richard “Dick” Knight, 77, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born October 12, 1943 in Princeton to the late Frank and Hester Knight and had lived back in the Princeton area since 1979, coming from Vincennes. He was a member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton, and Columbia Masonic Lodge #450 in Patoka and the Hadi Shrine Temple, and their motorcycle club. Dick enjoyed trips on his motorcycle with his wife, Pat. He loved his family dearly, and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He retired as a chemical operator with Duke Energy for 38 years. He was also a former school teacher, teaching English and then later a school principal.

Dick is survived by his four children, Cathy Starkey (Jody), Jenni Harrison (Bernie), Rhonda Reinhart (Kemer) and Shelby “Skippy” Knight; a sister, Sharon Brown (Roy) of Boonville; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Knight on February 26, 2020 and also, a daughter, Reina Krieg.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton, with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow. Due to Covid-19, the family will have a private family visitation at Colvin Funeral Home. Masks and social distancing will be observed at the cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel Memorial Church or Columbia Masonic Lodge #450.
