Robert E. Hathaway, 73, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. Bob was born February 1, 1950 in Princeton to the late Paul and Viola (Dyson) Hathaway, and had lived in the community his entire lifetime. He had been a mechanic and auto body repairman, and worked for many years at the former Oldsmobile dealership. He loved to tinker in his shop, and had a passion for fixing cars and hanging out at Brett’s Auto Body, Cricketts Lunch Room, Gary Gatewood’s Garage and Driscoll Auction Barn. Spending time with his beloved dog, Belle, was also a favorite pastime.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Hathaway; 5 children, Kara Armstrong (Joe Smith), Billy Dicus, Nicholas Dicus (Kristen), Norene Campbell (Matt) and Robbie Hathaway (Ali); 5 grandchildren, Shaila, Madison, Max, Kaylie and Chloe, and a grandson on the way; 3 great grandchildren, Little Dave, Callum and Emryn; also, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings.
The family would like to express a “Special Thank You” to the Deaconess Midtown Hospital doctors and nurses and also to the Linda E. White Hospice House for all of their care and compassion.
A Graveside service will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton, Indiana at 1:00 PM. Officiating the service will be Pastor Judy Williams with inurnment to follow. A celebration of life will take place after at Conservation Lake located at 1283 E. Conservation Drive in Princeton, Indiana.
