Robert “Bob” Loomis, 72, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born October 26, 1948 in Princeton to the late Glen and Irene Loomis. Bob graduated from Francisco High School in 1967 and then served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era on the USS DuPont and USS Springfield. He was a lifetime carpenter and retired from Master Brands in Huntingburg.
“Bob” is survived by his wife, Lisa Loomis, and they were married February 10, 1978; a daughter, Randie Merry (John) of Princeton; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Robert Loomis, and Mackinzie and Jackson Merry; a brother, Dale Alan Loomis (Susan) of Dublin, Georgia; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Loomis and infant sister, Carol Ann.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. A walk-through visitation will be held from 1 pm until 4 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the Retired Military Veterans. Due to state mandated COVID-19 regulations, the number of people allowed inside the funeral home will be limited to allow for social distancing and masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for expenses. Envelopes will be available at Colvin's.
