Robert “Bob” E. Satterfield, 73, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at home. He was born January 13, 1949 in Princeton to Lloyd and Rosalie (Coomer) Satterfield. He had lived in Princeton all of his life and was a member of The Oasis Church. He retired from Amax Coal in Keensburg, IL in 2008 where he had been a miner for 33 years. He was a member of UMWA Local #1791. In his earlier years he coached youth sports. He enjoyed playing games on his tablet, rabbit hunting, fishing and doing auto body work, especially the 1957 Chevy he and his son, Jason worked on. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his children, Jason Satterfield (Emily), Jana Blackwood (Chris), Donald Grubb and Regina Hardiman; grandchildren,Jordan Hardiman, Terrance Hardiman (Shayna), Trinton Simmons, Shelby Satterfield, Andy Satterfield, Adreanna Blackwood, Alana Blackwood, Brandon Blackwood, Kris Willis (Jess), Danielle Neal (Aaron), Ryan Grubb (Kelsey), Katie Grubb, Cenzie Bobbitt and Ryland Rumble; great grandchildren, DeAubrey, Jersey, Nevaeh, Roman, Julius, CJ, Atlas, Asher and two on the way; sisters, Jeanie Stuessel (Gary), Ruth Stuessel, Joann Godwin and Wanda Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bonnie F. Satterfield on March 22, 2021.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the The Oasis Church, 1104 S. Stout Street in Princeton with Pastor John Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from noon until the service hour on Tuesday at the church.
