Roberta Jo (Harris) Askren

Roberta Jo Askren, 74, of Oakland City, passed away November 20, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born November 17, 1949 in Princeton, Indiana to the late William Harris and Elizabeth “Betty” (Lytle) Harris. Roberta was a member of Living By Grace Church in Oakland City and loved riding horses. She also showed horses and raised chickens and goats. She was loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Roberta is survived by her children, Robert J. Askren (Karla), Eric Askren (Bessie), David Askren (Jessica), and Leja Rexroat (Tony); 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Scotty Harris, Leslie Harris (Jan), Selena Runau (Darren), Barbara Stach, and Vickie Gingerich.

She was preceded by her parents and husband, Robert V. Askren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Gene Burkhart. Interment will follow at Francisco Cemetery in Francisco, Indiana. Visiting hours will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM on Friday and from 1 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
