Rodney D. Seifers, 63 a longtime resident of Princeton passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home in Newburgh. He was given the nick name of “Pyshco” by his co-workers for the funny things he did at work.
Rodney was born July 15, 1957 in Princeton to Lee and Thelma (Boyle) Seifers. He retired from Gibson County Highway Dept. and has previously worked for Princeton Industries and Orion. He loved airplanes, farming, playing his guitar, music and especially his family.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years Sindy Seifers; son, Shawn Seifers of Francisco; step-daughters, Brittney Meadows (Matt) of Waverly, KY and Renae Bitts of Princeton; step-son, Travis Ridgely (Kaylee) of Oakland City; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Sue Perreault (Joffre) and Peggy Hartman (Fred) of Melbourne, FL, Jane Cole (Derrick), and Judy Davis (Vaden) Princeton; brother, Charlie Seifers (Sherry) of Francisco; mother-in-law, Sue McKinney (Boyd); brothers-in-law, Sherman Owen (Joy) and Larry Crawford Sr; sister-in-law, Shannon Rodewald (James); several nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruth Crawford.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Fairview Presbyterian Church with Pastor Mark Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Due to Covid-19 state mandated regulations the service will be limited to 50 people with masks and social distancing being required. During visitation people are asked to walk through, pay respects, and exit the building to keep within the mandated numbers. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
