Rosie F. Davis, 88, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord October 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 18, 1935 in Wabash County, IL to the late Larkin Lloyd Byrns and Frances (Waddle) Byrns. Rosie graduated from Owensville High School. She married Carroll J. Davis August 4, 1955 and was blessed with 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. Rosie attended and was a very active member of Owensville Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday School, played the piano, and the organ. Rosie enjoyed spending time tending to her flower garden. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook that passed her gifts on to her family. Rosie loved spending time with her family and watching her nieces and nephews. She also was thankful of her special friendship with Gracie Johnson for the last 62 years. Rosie will be deeply missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Carroll J. Davis; siblings, Nadine Taylor, Lloyd Byrns Jr., Melba Slunder, and James Byrns.
Rosie is survived by her children, Paul (Elizabeth) Davis, Bonnie Simmons, Perry Davis, and Shari (Kevin) Thomas; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Byrns and special niece, Barbara Short.
Funeral will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Owensville Church of the Nazarene in Owensville, IN. with Pastor Jared Henry officiating. Friends and family may visit 10 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Maumee Cemetery.
