Royce R. Speedy, 66, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. He was born March 14, 1954 in Princeton. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He retired after working in the trucking industry for over 30 years. He was a member of Prince Masonic Lodge No. 231 F&AM and Teamsters Local No. 215. Royce enjoyed firearms and NASCAR racing and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Royce was preceded in death by his father, Glenn (2005), brother, William (2016), mother, Etta Joyce (2016).
He is survived by 5 children, Ashley Bohleber, Kyle (Brooke) Speedy, Caleb Speedy, Tori Speedy and Kassie (Dustin) Beck; 2 sisters, Linda Rutledge and Elaine (Rick) Sides; 1 brother, Glenn (Pam) Speedy; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa & Jason Bohleber, Isaiah & Kale Speedy and Paxton Beck.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Fort Branch. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Military rites will be provided by Retired Military Veterans.
