Russell L. Wilson, 63, of Princeton, IN passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN surrounded by family. He was born April 5, 1962 in Vincennes, IN to the late George R. Wilson and Marie E. (Smith) Wilson. Russell graduated from South Knox High School in 1980. He was a lifelong truck driver, most recently with Tri-State Livestock haulers. Russell liked going to Indianapolis every September for drag racing. In his younger years he was known for his pet bear. People in and around Vincennes might recall seeing him ride around his motorcycle with the bear on the back, or in the passenger seat of his pickup truck, and even sometimes on the bar stool at a local bar. Russell loved animals, he even helped his family with more unique animals such as zebra, camels, and some exotics. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Russell is loved by so many and is already deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Deanna Wilson, Richard Wilson, Ron Wilson, and Roger Wilson.
Russell is survived by his wife, Joy (Aningat) Wilson; children, Brianna (Tamàs) Szoboszlai, Kalijah Wilson, Joe Vanne Dumelod, and Joe Micah Dumelod; grandchild, Lana Szoboszlai; siblings, Kathy (David) Pifer, Robert Wilson, and Rex (Judi) Wilson; sisters-in-law, Ginger Wilson and Mary Wilson.
A funeral service will be held 5 PM C.S.T. Monday, November 10, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Pastor Jonathan Ryser officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the service time at the funeral home.
