Ruth C. Bonney

Ruth C. Bonney, 101, of Owensville went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She was born to Leanna & Wilbur J. Curstead on July 27, 1925. Ruth was a retired Secretary, a mother, homemaker, and was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, H.E. Bonney, a retired Air Force officer and a School Administrator, died in 1987.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, David Bonney; brother, Wilbur F. “Bill” Curstead; and sister, Wilma Jean Burns.

Ruth is survived by her son, Gerald (Vicky) Bonney; daughter-in-law, Peggy Bonney; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. 

To honor Ruth’s wishes, no services will take place. She will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Park in Brownfield, PA next to her husband and parents. Brandi Macer at Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements here and Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home in Hopwood, PA.
